~*~Angel Dove~*~

by Mysteria

She played a mournful song on her harp,
As she began yet another day of her sorrow.
Singing of shattered crystal tears of rejection,
She prayed for a healed heart on the morrow.

Cast aside, her wings now broken,
She sang the song of her now distant love.
Poor little angel, now held by chains,
Earth bound - a spent, wingless dove.

Like a sad, lonely, and discarded dove,
Shackled by dreams all shattered and torn,
She covers herself in a sad blanket of shame,
Love has no face, she cries, so forlorn.

Imagine an anchoring sorrow so great,
Fate seems but a trifling maze.
Disillusioned by overpowering thoughts,
Rejected, she now walks in mind's haze.

Honor this flightless wounded bird,
Now shamelessly bound, a silent dove.
For once she flew on the wings of hope,
In search of a soul mate to love.

Cast aside in a folly long over,
Her heart mattered not from the start,
A sweet angel again has retreated in dishonor,
Tender heart and soul savagly torn apart.

She had felt the wind whispering songs of love,
Beneath the down on her soft feathered wings,
But sadly, flew blind into love's searing pain,
And now somehow her heart no longer sings!

I think everyone has been through this, and you told it so beautifully.

P.S. Your signature line seems like it could have been written for me!

This is so very touching. And your use of music and photo is so cool.

Really deep read though. I think I have to read it a few more times. Well I liked to reread books. Maybe that is similar.

Best wishes

Elizabeth: I have been through it more than once and I know the "sad dove feeling"well!

Raindrops: I see you are new - first of all welcome and I am relatively new as well. Actually the poem isn't too deep, it is about a girl who falls in love with a man that is only using her, and breaks her heart.

Marge: Yup! She be a sad angel dovie alright and I warned her too!
Thanks for reading this meager drivel gals.

The pain in your words is so searing....I hope that one day the angel dove can learn to fly and sing again!

Plenty of fish in the sea, constant peeking through those soft feathered eyelids may chance a glance on a galant angel of honour, Singing & dancing renewing dove's romancing.I liked your Poem Mysteria sad though Dove was.
