In the Meadow In a valley far away was a meadow with a lake where angels play. A silky stream filled the lake a graceful swan his home to make. Every morning meadow showers quenched the thirst of lavender flowers. And in the middle of each meadow day the meadow angels came out to laugh and play. The graceful swan loved them all yet one special angel kept him enthralled. She was the one with black silky hair. It was her kiss he wished to share. You may wonder why a graceful swan desired angel lips to kiss upon. As legend had it he could be an angel too if an angel kissed him in the morning dew. So on one special angel day the swan was floating on the lake. Waiting for the middle of the day when the angels would come out to play. To the swan's dismay a lone angel on the shore did lay. She moved not he knew not why. He nudged her arm and she let out a sigh. In times like this desire sets in. His chance had come and the kiss began. And in the twinkling of an angel eye two angels now lay kissing side by side. In a valley far away. In the lovely meadow where angels play. Jameslee@March18,2001 |

Stunning imagery!! You do that so very well. I longed to be there. I echo Sunshine. A keeper! "When people show you who they are, believe them" |

Truly beautiful scene you have painted, James. Very well done. Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
