I wonder if I told him, do you think he really knew?
How much his daughter loved him, ere she bade him sad adieu.
Did I take sacrifice for granted; lay his love upon the shelf?
Thinking not of what he'd done for me, but only of selfish self.
Heavenly Father, will You find him?
Will You seek him out up there?
Will You tell how much I loved him?
And will forever care?
On this earth, Dear Heavenly father, he was second unto none.
And I just can't wait to tell him 'til my race down here, is run.
I wish that I had told him then, before it was too late.
It's so hard to send my love from here, up through that golden gate.

Joyce this poem is breath taking. I have always believed that when a child speaks our parents listen even when they are in heaven.
I know your father would be proud.

its the fall from the height.

Beautiful expression of love, Joyce. A really tender prayer.

Oh my, this sent chills. I was not very close to my father, but he died recently, and it has been harder than I thought. I too, send him this wish.
Thanks. I may go cry now.

Thank you dear friends. My daddy has been gone for many years, but he still affects every day of my life. He was such a wonderful influence on the woman I was to become. I just hope he knew that. Love Joyce

'Heavenly Father, will You find him?

This is so touching, Joyce...and, yes, I'm sure he knows now...wonderful write!

to be with you...
I've tried to hide my passion,
but it's just no use...
piece by piece I lose it
when you walk into the room...
