You've often heard me say "You'd look good to me in a burlap sack" This reply to "Do I look alright" So when you go out of your way To make yourself attractive Or just more beautiful You may think I don't appreciate The wonder of you That loves me "I could be wearing burlap Humpf" I say let's light each other's eyes At least once a day We know the Peck on the cheek Is out The conscious kiss Is in I'm willing Nay I'll go out of my way To bathe you with my eyes Each chance I get Guaranteed at least once a day Let you know Just how much I am grateful for The whole you Every inch Every ounce Every garment Every stitch By the same token At least once a day I'll abandon The flannel shirt Be sure I'm scrubbed Shaven Combed Fresh (The way you like fresh -grin) I'd like to think We won't Get calluses On our eyes Let's be wonders Again The first duty of love is to listen. ~ Paul Tillich ~ |

When you look through love's eyes, there is always something beautiful to see. Wonderful poem, Bill. [This message has been edited by Martie (edited 03-16-2001).] |

I'd sure love to find a fella like you...we sometimes forget that little things do mean a lot...like an unexpected kiss or a compliment...this is nice Bill... |

This is excellent. I haven't been around here too long but of your poems that I have read, this is by far my favorite. Thank you. Packratmike |

Mr Yeats....I do so like the way your mind works... and that sensual side of you..with that slight edge of naughty is always a treat when it comes thru in your poetry... very cool write We wish ourselves beautiful, we cry in the night. Its not the love you fear ... its the fall from the height. ~Edwin McCain~ |
