This is a poem written for a woman that has become very special to me. There I was Struggling with those memories again. Just when I thought time had set me free, Those memories from my past Kept haunting me. I did everything I could To ease the pain, But those memories were too strong And I relived them once again. I grew so tired Of listening to my tears. Tired of letting my life Be controlled by my fears. In my life Where everything had gone wrong I needed a friend And then you came along. You gave me a gift When you opened your heart. I knew you were special Right from the start. You entered my life And destroyed my wall. YOu've shown me more patience Than I can ever recall. I wanted so much To run away from you To protect my heart So you wouldn't hurt me too. But, As time went on YOu opened my eyes, And set my heart free, You are more than a friend YOU ARE LIKE A SISTER TO ME. With you in my life I learned how to love You are my angel Sent from heaven above. I spent my life Living in fear. Running from people Year after year. I finally stopped running, Stopped being scared. I learned how to love, Learned how to care. You gave me hope Deep down inside, You've shown me I no longer need to run and hide. You gave me it all But you'll never know Just how much YOu have helped me to grow. |

I could so much relate to your poem!!!....I have been lost because of my childhood, and friends have helped me. Friends have stood by me, guiding me, caring that I was lost, and supporting me. I love your poem...good write. Red |

Thanks for the reply guys. I wrote this poem last weekend I plan on giving it to her, along with a yellow rose on Saturday. I hope she likes it. It is hard to know if the receiver likes the poem or not if they don't unerstand poetry. But hopefully, this poem is self explanatory. Either way, I think it puts my message across pretty clearly. What do you think? |
