What will be the name of my last poem? when I take my final breath in life I wonder if I will be holding my pen? when my invitation arrives Will I be writing poetry til the end? Will my words be a final good bye? Will I have a teardrop in my eye? as my soul starts to climb Will I be dreaming? drifting on a cloud of rhyme Will I clasp my quill pen tight? my feathered pen of cotton ink writing across a cloud eternal clouds of neon pink Will I beyond the stage of life be writing eternal scrolls? in a kingdom of budded clouds memoirs of earths theatrical roles I hope I will be above in the eternal balcony in a cloud of pearly beads penning eternal thoughts reciting rhyming creeds < !signature--> A poem is never finished, only abandoned. - Paul Valery (1871-1945) [This message has been edited by Victoria (edited 01-15-2001).] |

Well, I say, once you're a writer, there's no turning back. So, I think we'll all have our pens in hand, so to speak, when it's 'our time.' Great poem, Victoria! sp I won't go; I won't sleep; I can't breathe until you're resting here with me... |
