\ I Believe There Is Loveby Mysteria There is love of friends and family, And animals we snuggle up to at night. There is love of beautiful music, Dancing with your love by candlelight. There is love in seeing the moon and stars, As they twinkle in the sky at night. There is love in a child’s eyes, As they hold a new toy so tight. There is love in holding hands, And feeling someone’s love. There is love in praying in silence, To the Creator listening up above. There is love as we watch the birth, Of buds on flowers and trees unfold. There is love in feeling the soft skin, Of a newborn baby we may hold. There is love in the air we breathe, For it is that which gives us life. There is love in a seasoning love, Between a husband and a wife. There is love in feeling empathy, For someone who is in pain. There is love in learning a sport, Falling down, and getting up again. There is love in lending a helping hand, It comes back to you so I am told. There is love in reading your children a story, Watching eyes widen as the plots unfold. There is love in giving elders a gentle hand, As they go through their years of gold. There is love in the dryness of a desert, When there is the smell of rain in the air, There is love in a friend you don’t see, And in the knowing that they still care. There is love in discussing genealogy, While your family stories you tell. There is love looking into a mirror, It's the person who knows you so well. There is love, oh, so much love, In this wonderful world we call living. There is love, knowing what we get, Is absolutely always in the giving. There is love in being able to write words, To record your heart and soul with a pen. There is love knowing there is another day, I can sit down and write about love over again. *smiles* - Being that my life was the best in the 60's and 70's, I am still stuck in a love in - can you tell? You were very patient while I remembered all the things I could think of that were filled with love! Sometimes in this hectic world, we just have to stop and appreciate what is around us don't we? Thank you all for reading and indulging this "flower child". ~*~A poet is someone who reads more than they write ~*~ |
