I wish they wouldn't, but I know they will Remember me with birthday cards and cake. To me it means I'm further down the hill. They've loved me long and yes they love me still. They think they're doing this for my own sake. I wish they wouldn't, but I know they will. To me it means I'm further down the hill. I'll thank them nicely, but my smile is fake. I've forgotten when my birthday was a thrill. And now I see they're heating up the grill. The party's on, they're barbecuing steak. I wish they wouldn't but I know they will. They waiting on me, took my plate to fill. I's such a big todo for them to make. To me it means I'm further down the hill. But when you're loved, you have to smile until They've taken all the pictures they can take. I wish they wouldn't, but I know they will. To me it means I'm further down the hill. |

Joyce , this is great. And I know just what you mean. That hill, its treacherous, isn't it? But this was a fun poem, anyway, I don't know much about Villanelle's, but it seems like a good one to me. Sandra |

This is great Joyce! Good job of writing and very enjoyable to read. Happy birthday if that is appropriate! Betty Lou Hebert |
