I know where dark rivers flow
And the wild strawberries grow.
Where the gray fox has his lair
Midst the fern called Maidenhair.
I know where the sea-birds rise.
Noisy flocks that fill the skies.
Where the white swans come to dwell.
Sing their trumpet songs as well.
Where they mate and make their nest,
Plucking feathers from their breast.
I know where the clouds are born,
Bearing rain and every morn,
Where the song birds sweetest song
Serenades me all day long.
I know where the stars at night
Get their sparkle and their light
And the moon in silver grace,
Shows her lovely, shining face.
I'm atuned to nature's beat.
Feel the life beneath my feet,
In my blood and in the bone.
It's the only life I've known.

indeed you are atuned to nature's beat as well as the beat of words strung in lines to pull the reader in....

nicely done

I applaud. When I need to regroup, get back to who and what I am, I go to nature. This is wonderful.

After years of searching, I have found I am nothing more, nothing less...I am in truth Just A Woman after all.

Dear Sunshine: Thanks so much and I really didn't think you were saying I was "old". However, I am getting up there!
