state of confusion

I may never cross mossy moors
on foot or upon graceful steed,
or see waves of amethyst meadows
in fullness before going to seed;
nor witness day’s end into night,
in liquid gems of golden green,
or dance in the clan tradition
in the land of in-between.

But I am nevertheless claimed
by the Isle of an olden past,
though this lifetime has been spent
in a place of bitter contrast;
the fire, it burns brighter
within the Gaelic core,
as though our souls carry
an infinite gift for more.

Oh My God, I am utterly taken back by this. I wish my grandmother was here to read this, we'd both be dancin' a jig. God love your heart.

A wonderfully expressed sentiment, Corinne. We rovers dwell far and wide, but know well that infinite gift for more. Erin go braugh.

This expresses so well the tie to Ireland that most of us who are Irish or part Irish,
have, even when we've never been there. Only in our dreams! Really nice!
