The time of day to power a poet's fancy Are those short moments 'twixt the day and night; When rosy glow doth streak the west horizon; That lovely interlude we call twilight. Somewhere between the daylight and the darkness, The remnants of the sun sill hanging there, Erasing heavy burdens of the daytime, Removing all the weariness and care. The mystic time the poets call the gloaming, This lingering salute to end of day, Just long enough to usher in the nightfall And welcome in the moon and star display. This half-light often brings quixotic dreaming; E'en lulling birds and beasts to quietude. This gift from God for those of lonely spirit; Bestowed on them to bless their solitude. Never looked at it that way Joyce but it's really a great thought..."this gift from God for those of lonely spirit;...bestowed on them to bless their solitude." Very very nice indeed ! Well written! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

I can't believe I almost missed this. It's exquisite. You've touched on a love I've always had.....twilight and you've written the awe of it beautifully. I applaud, Joyce, this is outstanding! After years of searching, I have found I am nothing more, nothing less...I am in truth Just A Woman after all. |

Joyce, I love the twilight!! It is so peaceful and serene to watch the stars some out. Nice writing and lovely images. Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
