SPIRITS FLY WITH BROKEN WINGS So gracefully ~ ~ ~ A fragile leaf is descending slowly From the branches of life's tree. Spinning delicately ~ Upon the transparent hands of time… Bracing the impact ~ Easing the transition ~ Of the journey between…. All that has been…….and all that awaits. Gentle winds embracing… Magically waltzing ~ And spinning ~ Beneath tender touches that seal the promise… Never to forsake ~ And never to let go ~ Despite fate's verdict That the time has come ~ To fall. Eternal bonds that hold the keys To the doorways of limitation ~ Lips that have never tasted The salt of a teardrop shed When tomorrow seems so far away ~ Yesterday has abandoned me ~ And today is born within the bondage of visions of a spirit with broken wings… That could not mend…and forgot how to fly. In the clutches of defeat ~ Laying helpless as lifeless wings Extended beside me on the ground… Absorbing the teardrops of my despair As the winds whisper in voices of compassion ~ so sweetly ~ Beckoning me to focus upon the inspiration to overcome ~ * …and times stands still for a moment as… * ~ So gracefully ~ ~ ~ A fragile leaf is descending slowly From the branches of life's tree. Spinning delicately ~ Upon the transparent hands of time… Bracing the impact ~ Easing the transition ~ Of the journey between…. All that has been…….and all that awaits. Reminding me that broken wings cannot hold me….. Spirits soar upon vessels of dreams ~ ~ Fueled by the forces of destiny And created by the will of God… As He touches me from beyond the doorways to Heaven ~ ~ And whispers into the winds that Blow through the branches of life's trees… 'Tomorrow is beneath the span of my wings' ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ …fly there and claim it ~ it is yours…. |

This was absolutely the balm for these moments. I read this just after posting my poem from last year of when my mother made her transition, three years ago, today. This was so very soothing, wonderfully written, and definitely one of which I'd love to keep a copy, may I? |

How did I miss this one? This is so insightful and full of your wisdom, and no...tomorrow will never come hiding beneath a broken wing, you are so right, and this lady is about to fly! pssst. thanks to you! ~*~A poet is someone who reads more than they write ~*~ |

Simply beautiful Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
