Gentle hands of time, reach out... With compassion’s eyes Compelled by your vision Into yesterday’s tragedies and disappointments. So softly dry the teardrops From tired eyes That have been swimming in them for years And yearn to rest upon the sands of serenity Beneath the warmth and safety of your palms. ~ <3 ~ <3 ~ <3 ~ Gentle hands of time, secure ~ ~ Open doorways to the past... Long awaiting closure Since the moment that forsaken dreams Carelessly left them ajar ~ ~ ~ Now standing alone in the rooms of the shadows Where whispers of regret have waited your arrival ~ Gentle hands of time…please finish ~ ~ Unwritten chapters of my life… Patient verses forgotten by yesterday’s muse... A beautiful story awaiting the ink of Destiny’s pen... And the signature of the author of my life. Gentle hands of time...tenderly touch The smile that I fought relentlessly to salvage From the corrosion of salt water tears That I accepted in exchange for the memories I would have been denied ~ had never they fallen. And present tomorrow with understanding Of the fragileness of a heart that Has been reconstructed many times And beats cautiously beneath Scars of yesterday’s wounds. Gentle hands of time...embrace me In the warmth of memories that Decorate the hallways of my life... In the hopes of dreams that beckon me softly From the edges of my journey... In faith that builds bridges Over raging oceans and unpredictable tides... ~ <3 ~ <3 ~ <3 ~ <3 ~ Gentle hands of time... Carry my yesterdays gently into your heartbeat... Where they sleep in the gentle echoes of your being... Hold my trembling hand in yours... As I knock upon tomorrow’s door And await the answer... Gentle hands of time... Carry me gently into the unwritten chapters of my life... ~ * ~ * ~ |

What a wonderful poem. Some of u have had so much of both the bad and the good. We can't but wonder what lies ahead. A good reading. Joyce |

Martha~ I thought this to be a splendid pondering piece. 'Gentle hands of time... Carry me gently into the unwritten chapters of my life...' That would be my wish ... Thank you for sharing. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Hi Angel of Mine! These are my favorite: a heart that Has been reconstructed many times And beats cautiously beneath Scars of yesterday’s wounds. Caution is my middle name, and soon you have to just lay off the workers and build your heart yourself! Wow, this was filled with your glorious insight, what a absolutely wonderful piece Martha. Welcome to Pips, will teach you the "Bells and Whistles" as I know them as we go. Luv Ya Girl! ~*~A poet is someone who reads more than they write ~*~ |
