Do You Ever Wonder?

When the world is cold and dark,
And shadows fill your mind,
Do you ever wonder
At the agelessness of time?

Momentary, fleeting fragments,
Added each to one,
Forming "life" ... a path to follow,
'Til our time is done?

Transitory illustrations,
Etched in circumstance;
Do you ever wonder
At their true significance?

Microscopic moments,
Blending in totality,
Unified in fluid threads,
To shape eternity.

Mere illusions; happenstance,
Together, tied and bound;
Do you ever wonder
At the path that you have found?

All combined; theatrical,
A story brought to life,
Whereupon the script is played,
To curtain calls each night.

No rehearsals; ever live,
Performing endlessly;
Do you ever wonder
At the sheer reality?

Seconds meld in to the next,
Collectively, they breed,
Propagating unbeknownst,
With vigor, rapidly.

Time is fleeting, waste it not,
A gift in short supply;
Tragic, should we wonder
If a moment passed us by.

very cool poem Kit-gator ...
succinct and superb in its vocabulary choices...
I love the pace of the rhyme ...
the brevity of the lines made the cadence dance along...
a different style of writing for you ..
but ya made it look easy
very cool poem indeed sweet poetess!!

my eyes,I see its all together now

Friend ... again our spirits touch~

Such a poignant ponder.

I wonder how time escapes me as I grow older. I wonder if the unniverse is expanding and will toss us to the heavens one day... I plan to go one way or other
Yes, I wonder about many things, and your poem tells of all the thoughts that pass through a curious mind.
That's the art of you. As always, I love your style of writing.

Kit,

This is great. I love a poem that makes you think. A wonderful reminder not to let those precious moments slip away from us for they are so few.
