Are You Here in These Hours? Virginia Salter It’s morning and your memory is swallowed up in so many finches flitting at feeder quarreling over morsels entertaining the day with little to say, yet, my understanding for their drive their need is acute. I’ve held such hunger for food and much else, as well. Hunger for friends to flock with, together, to spat over little things, smile over garden rings, sing for our suppers in sweet harmony. Maybe, after all, your memory is not consumed by these enigmatic moments esoteric glimpses offered me in a day’s beginning of sweet things winging past my window pane when rain has ceased to trickle down the glass and the pain of losing seems to gently pass leaving a heart bathed in sweet melodies of latent reminisce. © March 10, 2001 |

Thanks, again, Denise. I so appreciate you stopping to read and comment. I wasn't even sure I'd have a poem 'arrive' today. I made a plea to the finches who have been constantly at my feeders for more than an hour, I'm sure. |

VAS~ This is simply lovely. A gathering of thoughts - seeded with longing. Greatly enjoyed. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
