A whisper so soft,
... as if was not spoken,
Night's gentle breeze,
... the quiet unbroken,
Oaken cathedrals,
... worship the moon,
As silence is broken,
... by call of the loon.
A melody haunting,
... sad music she weaves,
Through still of the forest,
... through shimmering leaves,
Seeks out the answers,
... eternity's call,
No answer forthcoming,
... no answer at all.
Shadows are dancing,
... at touch of moon's glow,
First breath of twilight,
... on lush land below,
Vespers of evening,
... sound forth through the limbs,
Whispering winds,
... sing out nature's hymns,
Echoes the loon,
...over forest and glen,
Night's benediction,
...called forth from the fen,
Doe stops to listen,
... beside stands her fawn,
Awaiting the answer,
... awaiting new dawn.

We are sympatico tonight, it appears. The moonlight brings out the elemental forces in all creatures, I believe. A lovely composition, this reminds me, somewhat, of Debussy. Thank you, hope you are well, my friend.

Breathtakingly beautiful, Mike! What I got from this is that the answer is found in the new dawn, or in other words, that focusing on that coming new dawn brings hope for the answer. I love the sense of hope that this expresses, at least to me, anyway!

Dear Mike:
This is lovely! It brought back many memories of watching and listening to loons.
I grew up in Canada and you have captured the
feeling loon voices create.
