The line was drawn time and again and she not knowing the rules stepped out bravely only to be swept from the board ‘not your turn’ she was told and then again with different pieces and a different board she stepped out tentatively only to be swept from the board ‘still not your turn’ she waited there left of ‘go’ fearing to pass never collecting her due never buying a chance at a railroad or a house or life waiting for her turn to play [This message has been edited by Poet deVine (edited 03-09-2001).] |

and me? I should have collected my rent! Love the metaphor here--and I say, let's go for the Monopoly! |

You can apply monopoly to so many things in life, so didn't want to go to deep with this (as I have a tendancy to do), so I will just say I loved it, and it brought back such wonderful memories of me playing with my Grmama, and scared I was going to loose the "dough", never mind buying the railroad! ~*~A poet is someone who reads more than they write ~*~ |

Hi Sharon, I liked this, how you used it to represent life, I have a few BIG things I am waiting for! wonderfully done, Love, Cerenity "God doesn't have to be reminded that we exist. We have to be reminded that He exist!" (Writer Unknown) |

Reminds me of a little story of real... I would play Monopoly or Parchesi, even as an adult and would never get past Go or out of Start..everyone just thought it fun to keep me back because I was the most emotional of all, in the family and group of friends. And when I would finally say I give up, in tears, they would call me a quitter. So I no longer enjoy games, playing any kind on a board...now I play them on the computer ...and if I lose, then I know it's fair. ~Wynter...sorry, your words brought back the feelings. Thank you all!! You know I don't like games like this..board games where a toss of the dice determines my fate. I prefer Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit. At least I have SOME say in how I play, by using my brains.... |

I like the game analogy here, Sharon. I think sometimes though, you just have to get out there and take what you want!! Heck with that buying stuff!! LOL. |

"never buying a chance at a railroad or a house or life" ~~ superb line! Sharon, please allow me to echo the others' praises about this interesting poem. Masterfully metaphorical. I know that waiting game all too well... it's amazing how injured a heart can be while on the sidelines, isn't it? *S* This is great, PDV... liked it much! |
