I've let myself relive it all, from first glance, to final touch. All the memories that I have, I've relived them far too much. All the meaning behind the words, that were ever spoken, I've sorted through and analyzed and will keep them as a token. They'll serve to remind me, that nothing's ever as it seems. All the while, it's been just me, living in foolish dreams. Dreaming of a someday, and dreams of a 'maybe'. Loving dreams, but hopeless, and never meant for me. Destiny has made it's place for me, to dwell within it's realm, to sail my vessel alone in life, with me the captain at the helm. And sail I will, to lands unknown, to a far and distant shore. Leaving behind the one, I love for now and evermore. I'll shove my thoughts away from me. I won't let myself remember. I'll tame the fire that burned so bright, and bank it into an ember. Without a doubt, I know my love, will never fade away... but that's a story left unread and best left to yesterday. If you can't make it so, you need to let it go! This is quite good. I especially liked the last line, I believe you closed the poem up well with it. Truly, very well done. ~Allan If I had your eyes, I'd be blind. For I can only see out of my own. ~~Carly Van Dort |
