Under the stars upon the wind

0 posted 2001-03-08 10:31 PM

I stood in front of the crowd
my parents watched on proud
And then I knew what I had to say
For I knew it was the day..

Once upon a time
in a world corrupt by crime
There was a princess who was sad
because the world had made her mad..

She was like me, she was like us
She went to school on the bus
She went to school
Wanted to be cool..

That's when it all started
From her friends she silently departed
Of they're friendship she was rinsed
For she thought she had found her prince

But she didn't see the shadow behind the star
Before she would noticed she would be in to far..
He told her of far away lands
While always holding her hands

When he finally wanted her to see what he saw
In she was pulled by marjuana's claw
The prince just smiled and offered more
and with that she opened a dangerous door.

Into a pit of black and white
No longer caring what was wrong or right
She moved on up the drug ladder
Never thinking of what really mattered..

The King and Queen never saw the signs
The thought never entered thier minds..
For she was thier daughter
and unlike others would be smarter.

The drugs piled up as a bucket collects rain
She would use them to cure herself of all pain.
But then the prince decided to leave
Leaving the princess to sit and grieve

But what can a girl used to the best of all
Do when the world seems to fall??
She but did her drugs of course..

The eyes of people peered at me as I briefly paused
I saw the looks of shock and fear, this is what the truth caused
Did they think I would forget what had happened
that the saddness from me would some how be dampened?

The princess laid down her silken head
For her false happiness had left her dead..

I looked at my peers
And saw within them thier own fears
The Princess had been my friend
And as my High school career came to an end..

I turned to the crowd my face tear spattered
tell me what happened to happily ever after??

Voiceless,

So sad and tragic when drugs take over one's life. It seems as though you have realized the prince didn't have your best interest in mind and that is good. You are the only one who can change the way things are. No one can do it for you. They can be supportive and encouraging, but it comes down to what you want in the end. This was a powerful portrayal of the cycle of addiction. Good writing. I wish you the best.

So tragic to fall into this world and death be the outcome, I'm sorry.

Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning.

voiceless,

"what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger"

this may be a cliched saying but if this is autobiographical, i do hope you find a little solace in the words above whenever you feel too down...

i wish you the best in the self-journey away from addiction...be well....
