My first sonnet in about 16 years, but I really think it hits the mark! See what you all think..... Precious Prize I never cut a lock of hair to keep from any man except this curled one I took from just behind your ear - t'was done with unexpected passion, near to sleep. So drowsy-eyed,our hearts brim-full and deep with love and innocent desire won, you would not tell me "no", having begun to choose the perfect lock to cut and keep. It was so long ago but I recall you shivered when my fingers touched your skin. Your eyes became as soft as twilight's fall, you leaned into my breast to breathe me in. And when at last I claimed the prize so small, you offered up a kiss and said "you win." *suggestions for a better title? I am thinking maybe "locket Memories".... haha! My mom still has my lock of hair in the photo album! Thats really something, seeing how my hair was back then, completely preserved and saved. This was a heartfelt sonnet, and I give you my love and respect. |

This was great! Sonnets are my favorite! How about "Unexpected Passion" as a title? |
