“RIDE A MOONBEAM”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
I knew her once as Moonchild, a poet whose words I did see,
ones that were very touching,
at least they were that to me…
She came out of nowhere, with those words tender and sweet,
seemed without a care in the world,
her writings were so elite…
I gazed up above, not knowing from whence she came,
could it be here, or maybe over there,
in that large universal chain…
Wherever it might be, the distance might be so very far,
I wondered how she got here,
could have been on a falling star…
Perhaps it was one moonbeam, coming down from the sky,
bringing her to a new place,
and letting her off, as it stopped by…
She could then see new things, and again start to smile,
and the night would see,
that her thoughts were gentle, and mild…
So she rode down out of the night, on her loving moonbeam,
nigh unto an angel,
with her eyes wide and all agleam…
She pondered and wondered, and when she smiled,
she remembered her happiness,
when she became that special Moonchild…
BC,
Wonderful and sweet tribute to a wonderful woman. I am sure she'll enjoy this. Your thoughts are lovely.
Oh wow!!!!! *sigh* Beautiful. I'd have loved to respond in verse but I just couldn't do this justice. It's stunning.
"Special" in your last stanza does in truth say the same.
Well Done.
Love it. Beautifully written, Moonbeam is lucky to have such a wonderful poem written about her.I am new and don't know everyone, so sometimes my responses may seem strange
I came from out of nowhere
an indigo of space
where stars would shine, the moon was full
and nothing's out of place.
I traveled distance lengthy
to land upon a world
of words so universal
as other's lives unfurled.
Captured in each moment
was I, in passion's hold.
Then came a meet of blue eyes
to set memory in gold.
I ride the waves of nighttime
and float upon each morn
when rhythms overtake me
and rhyming thoughts are born.
Although the dawn of writing
had come by chance of need
developed I desires
my minds eyes constant feed.
Turning words to satisfy
my hunger to express
I share with you a thought or two
as yours I taste, ingest.
As each one brings to me a smile
or  nod of "understand"
a feel of real sweeps over me
of printed word in hand.
I thank you for your friendship
as I climb upon my beams
To ride once more, this day of new
to blend them into  dreams.
~Wynter/Moonchild/Maureen
Why sure she should post in the OPEN, we all belong in the open. I think our poetry belongs on the front page of the New York Times, but no one agrees!!!
Every poet needs to be heard, we're all special, every last one of us, hey! guess that means me too!
Bill, this was very much needed, thank you!
