In Your Poetic Mind

I close my eyes sometimes
and remember our relationship,
peaceful, calming

We, like butterflies,
danced around the common pollen
gliding sometimes on
different air waves,
yet always sharing
the same sun,
making our gentle
landing on the same petal

I have my memories of living
in a cocoon as one with you,
molding and shaping
together a beautiful
flight of life,
beautiful wing colors
fluttering gracefully
through bluer skies

I spread my wings to fly,
some days only to get
caught in your
net memory again

We were monarch
warriors of this flight,

As I fly alone with
you in my mind, I
see our bluer skies
in the green meadows
of my memory where

Still we dance

There are some memories that we just don't want to ever let go of and that is the beauty of those special times that can always be reflected upon to bring the smile and reassurance that we have truely tasted the best in life.  Lovely write from you but of course we have come to expect that of you.

Enjoyed your words lauren..a sad one..memories can be very painful..
like a butterfly caught within
the pages of our minds..

GreenEyes~
This is as lovely a poem as I've seen this day.
Sheer beauty in the metaphor~
Very tenderly phrased.
I want you to know just how much I enjoyed your thoughts.
