You embrace me, with your eyes. I breath your air, when our eyes lock. Dangerously, I let my guard down, and for a second, while we stare I let myself be yours. Then, I look the other way, you also do the same. Your voice, sweet tone, brings me around the world. You embrace me, with your eyes. I feel your warmth. Deep in my soul we travel, but a minute it takes me to give it all. Then I turn my face away, hidding my guilty look. Again, we stare, and for a moment, who cares? We only matter, and for a split second, we succumb to our intensions. Coming back from this trip, silently. A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |

Eyes are the windows to the soul, are they not? "Death marks the beginning, not the end. It is our journey to God." --Billy Graham |

Walker: I LOVED this poem! I know exactly how this feels. Wish I could only be "dangerous" enough to let these feelings I have take life and be true in the open. Glad you risked getting caught, it sounds like it was worth it even if it was only for a moment or two. ~Lisa~ ~in order to gain, you have to lose~ |

I so understand that momentary locking of the eyes and then the...looking away. Very well done. |
