The sky, dark and bleak,
no stars or moon. in sight.
No sound in forest,
all creatures silent.

Then it happened,
birds, and animals fled,
their fear too great.

They knew within their being,
tonight someone would die.
The guardian of lost souls,
Insidious, loathing all righteous.

The despicable to take,
for a covenant was made.
The evil one claimed another,
to be forever damned.

Stricking the fear of hell into me. A lost soul... am I. This piece is marvelously dark.
