Seven Robins in January Virginia Salter Seven robins high at rest each in puffed up russet breast, harbingers of spring they be, as the linger in each tree. Cling they to each barren branch as I watch in wanton stance for sweet spring to soon espy Oh, there it is, right in my eye! © January 14, 2001 |

Thank you both! But, dagnabbit!!!!! I wish spell check knew I meant "they" and not "the!" Glad you liked it anyway, and I'm sure you read what I meant to say. Do you think it's a bit like Ogden Nash in its summation? He's one of my favorite 'silly' yet brillian poets. |
