I sit in the dark and write poems this night. The firelight pulses, advances and retreats. My brothers are sound asleep. The wind howls and shrieks outside. In an icy and cruel dark night. This is a comforting place to be, Songs of old feelings repeat in my head. Perhaps you can feel them, my friend. Pieces of love my soul can embrace. Aye, taunted by the dark I am, my friend. I wish to bathe in the light. Ah, yes, that firelight. That comforting glow of the dying embers. I sit in the dark and write poems this night. The icy blue moonlit wind-struck night, Enhances my comfort in here...somehow.. I'd rather stay here, inside and warm, Than to freeze my bones in that night. Love is God. Love is war. Love is what your life is for. |
