OK, mister, I heard that
As he "wispered" a plan of escape
A puzzled look from where he sat
Wondering, now,what was his fate

You want to go where and do what
Are you out of your mind
It's too far, their mom is a nut
And it's way to hard to find

You might as well tell me
Because by the look on your face
You need something, did something or want to be
Gone or doing it in another place

No matter how young they are or old
A mom can FEEL when all is not right
Sometimes a look, something in a voice, a word
And once again mom thinks she can make all right

A sigh here or there, a tear from no where
That little voice in my head
A feeling that only mom's can share
You can't make it right after all is done and said

Your grown family are raising theirs
The cycle has started over again
All the looks, the under-breath hiss, the stares
Are causing neck-hair to stand and eyes to spin

remember me telling Katrina that I had those
eyes in the back of my head...she said UHHHH
UHHHHHHHH....I checked and you do not

and Matthew...well he always wants to know "How'd you know???????????"

By the time you came along, my butterfly, the "eyes" didn't see quite as much. I know you have them though because all mom's do. Now dads are a different story!! Love and hugs, my kid, MOM
