The Rhyme of the Ancient Terrier Virginia Salter Brown sugar brown was he mottled well with black trotted, skittered ‘round the field then he headed back Barked, "Hello," and shook his paw sang howls to the moon put a bone in the deep deep ground and dug it up too soon Wore a collar ‘round his neck attached to silver leash loping forth for all he’s worth though master begged he cease In spite his age, for it is long he clamored for first place his ears would flop and flip around yet his feet would move with grace Yes, there’s no dog quite like him and surely none the merrier than this loving, frolicking jolly ancient terrier © July 3, 2000 |

Water, water everywhere And all the boards did shrink Water, water everywhere Nor any drop to drink! Yanno... I'm quite sure there are things I could have learned in high school that would have served me better than memorizing LONG poems... especially since my mind has long since flushed most of my efforts! LOL I enjoyed the read, VAS... (even if I will be cursing you for all these verses that you invited to visit! LOL) |
