The One I Don’t Write About You’re sleeping on the couch And I want to bend down and kiss your head You’re so tired, my kiss always wakes you Why can’t I see that this is love? You make the coffee strong every morning You know my moods like your own You have indulged my every fantasy Why can’t I let this be love? You sleep now next to me We have always slept so perfectly together I’ll try to feel what I should feel And never tell you this isn’t love. |

You speak well of a conundrum we all seem to find and feel at some time: I care about you, but I do not Love you. Perhaps I am wrong in my interpretation, it certainly would not be the first time. Yet that is what the poem speaks of to me. AT "For al these things, honor, dishonor, pain... happen to all men. They are not the mark of a virtuous life... or lack thereof" Marcus Aurelius |

If I may, what I see, is what was, but now is not...and out of respect, you go on.... cut your losses, it is not kind to lead on.... |

Perhaps is LOVE? Well expressed! A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |

I am wont to say "good God, not another, when he runs out of Plato, Decartes and Hume, he will simply fill in, with one of his own, egad" Still, in spite of protests, tis true: "That which we feel or fear to tell another, is precisely what we need to say" I am unsure if this applies. If not, well Fed Ex is working overtime. And you may chalk it up to my oh so solipsistic bent of quoting myself, when all others are spent. I know, double the order, NOW. "Truth in this gray-marred, subjective world, may be defined as intent. Truth, then is one thing, the Intent to Conceal Nothing." |
