Shining for my Brother |

This poem was written to a tune going through my head. It's at times like this I wish I could use those wav thingys. Here I am shining reflection of your light Can you see me smiling, watching through the night? At best, at rest, Put me to the test, I seek my brother sun, to pay him homage right Here am I sulking, the tides rise my call The thunderclouds responding, lest I ask their all On wane, in pain, Looking for the bane Yet, seek my brother's gloaming to prevent my fall Can you see me rising, encompassing dusk time? Now that I am striving, the victory will be mine This night so bright Surrounded with starlight Your sister moon is soaring, come join me in the climb Look at me I'm shining, in fullness for this time A rounded, dim reflection of my brother mine But still, fulfill My promise if you will Brother sun I'm shining and everything is fine. Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Patty Hansen. |

Great to read your shining words my dear picnic partner. And you're celebrating it with some very well written poetry! How could life get much better than that you being the moon and shining in the light of your brother sun....I really loved the read!! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Beautiful and an especially beautiful idea. It caused me to think how we are indeed supposed to be as moons reflecting the light of the true Son. Thank you for this thought, even if it may be awry from what you were intending...since I changed the spelling. The moon reflects, it does not shine of its own power. |

ethome, thank you so much. I guess you could call this a little too much whine or wane even. VAS, I did make the connection between a reflection of the sun (Son) thanks for pointing it out be well Kethry Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Patty Hansen. |

Brother Sun, thank you. I'm so glad the song plays for us both. Kethry Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Patty Hansen. |

Kethry dear heart, the real moon may only be a pale reflection, beautiful, but a reflection nevertheless. You however Sister Moon shin so brightly the stars are sulking because they are dimmed, I love this one dear heart, utterly splendid, and did I say it was superb? Well, of course it is, always dear heart you shine so wonderfully, and this beams beautifully. Absolutely excellent, now you know why i love these ones so much, they are just sooooooo magnificent Take care love as always Slushy Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |
