Fountain of beauty, of gladness and light,
Whose pathway is set in the infinite height,
Whose light has no shadow, whose day has no night.

We know not your birthplace, you wonderous one.
We count not the ages through which you have run,
But we render our praises to life-giving sun.

All day the glad Earth in your loving embrace,
Arrayed by your bounty in garments of grace,
Lifts up to your glances her beautiful face.

At night when her children need silence and rest,
With the light of her starry-eyed sisterhood blessed,
She sleeps like a bride on your cherishing breast.

When skylark springs up at the coming of morn,
When golden-fringed curtains of night are withdrawn,
Then, blushing with beauty, the day is reborn.

The pulses of nature in harmony bound
To waves of your glory which move without sound,
and sweep unimpeded through spaces profound.

The life-tide that leaps in the bird or the flower,
The rainbow that gleams through the drops of the shower,
These and much more are born of your power.

Oh Sun, in the light of whose presence we see,
We ask “can you tell us what caused you to be,
And how are we linked to creation and thee?"

We must perish, but by your wonderful powers
Will rescue from darkness these bodies of ours
And fashion them over to fauna and flowers.

Your poetry always holds that magical trance of nature with it so beautifully and the imagery never fails to impress this poets eyes. Simply superb write and the rhyme hits home with such ease. No forcing found in it's flow. I also loved the format and the way your stanzas lead directly into the other so smoothly. Simply awesome write.

Mark,

Thanks for your kind words. It's been some time since I've felt the inspiration and taken the time to write again. Having immersed myself in this treasury of heart-felt songs and phrases, I feel my literary juices flowing once again. Thanks to you all for that gift.
