I remember Hope and more I remember Believing Long ago far away no I do not deceive you I believed And I am so old so aged I should be wise but things really do not work that way Road to all Demise Really says it all You don't grow old people You watch your dreams Die one by one by many That is age the inability to rise once more to the stage and simply say I Want or I Desire with all I am and all I ever shall be But head hanging one day a thing happens As you are forever unknown Inspire Respire Makes no difference you know This The End Is a very Quiet Thing to Hold last of you All the passions in furtive life obeys your trying And you can say merely "Fear not the Unknown" Fear only the Death of Dreams Your Life is Built Upon And so we go "For al these things, honor, dishonor, pain... happen to all men. They are not the mark of a virtuous life... or lack thereof" Marcus Aurelius [This message has been edited by ATelamon (edited 03-01-2001).] |

"And you can say merely "Fear not the Unkown" Fear only the Death of Dreams Your Life is Built Upon" Beautifully put. How excellent a piece. "Death marks the beginning, not the end. It is our journey to God." --Billy Graham |

"Makes no difference you know This The End Is a very Quiet Thing to Hold last of you" So sad this...dreams may die, but when hope dies, what is left? This poem touches me. |

This is a very beautiful bit of melancholy. There is more sorrow there, I think, than meets the eye. Have you read "Tuesdays With Morrie" by Mitch Albom? I think that is one of the most important books I've ever read. He learns so much about how to live as he learns how to die. It is a beautiful, captivating book and it is a true experience, a documentary. I really recommend it highly. After you read it, should you do so, I would so like to see a sequal to this poem side by side this one. |
