Up-lifting their gaze when small eyes look to you
to re-shape their worlds for the better each day
When asked by the children " Why is the sky blue ?"
my thanks go to those who allow me to say ...

Some souls lend an ear to our worries and cares
and hear more than words ( which describe in detail ) the un-ending saga of life that's not fair,
which strikes to the heart of this brief little tale

Of un-selfish giving and shoulders to lend
by people who often have more than can spend ,
of trouble and problems than what they are due
yet by list'ning , make theirs , what belonged to you

One needn't have wisdom of ancients so wise
to know that a cup won't hold more than it's size,
but these will hold less , as they're filled from the start,
for they have been blessed with compassionate hearts

And so these fine souls of all give and no take
change gray of our skies into blue in their wake .
And all may pay back in kind with one small gift
,
For no matter our size , all at times need a lift .
