Decadence flows down the crowded street,
Perversely drunken gaudy sparked blight,
Alcoholic facades on whom ever you meet,
Mindless gaiety till the stroke of midnight.

A candle lit amidst the whispers
Pausing within the new found light,
Quiet returns as then ends vespers,
The candle solitarily enters night.

Gray passages leads to solitude sleep
No door is barrier from the night,
No warmth of hearth is there to keep,
Penitent as the dark hides all sight.

Dust is touched by morning’s coming,
Times of Ash are solemnly beginning.

Gloom

Thank you, mystic requiem,
High praise that a poem has re-readability.
You are very kind
