sometimes all i want
at the end of day
is to rest in the arms
of a good man
peel off this mask
like silk stockings
and feel only
his hands on my skin

sometimes all i want
when the evening comes
is to stare into eyes
that know me
that hear my desires
and answer with
soft whispers
in my hair

sometimes all i want
when the moon shines
through lace curtains
is to stand naked
beneath its magic
let its luminescence
encompass two people
who have shed their
protective layers
and are not afraid
to expose the soft spot

both knowing
what they want...

to be loved
