Walls Cannot Hold A Butterfly |

His fingers gently caress her soft cheek And set butterflies on flights of fancy in her belly. The look in his eyes brings a smile to her lips And she kisses him tenderly exploring new feelings. Is this love? Neither of them will say that word Too many past pains have locked them behind walls. But walls cannot hold a butterfly Nor a love thats determined to win. Is this fate? Too many times they have scaled that wall Only to fall from its height bruising heart and soul. So who can blame them for their nonbelief But even a hardened heart is no match for butterfly wings. Is this now? Some walls are meant to withstand ages Some to guard, some just to please the eye. But the walls a heart constructs for itself Are meant to be tumbled by the strength of a butterfly. |

Paula, this is so soft and delicate to read but the words are strong. Well done. Dee "But the walls a heart constructs for itself Are meant to be tumbled by the strength of a butterfly" I wish you every happiness and may you always have the best of the good things in life. a brand |

I like the philosophy of this one Paula...I love the metaphors very much and your heart is showing despite the pain of not knowing....well done!! I like this very much!! I love the determination for love!! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Love takes us where we want to go. Lovely piece! A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |
