“Oh, how I wish…” Each day I wake to watch them fly, The birds, I mean, up in the sky, I watch them float up in the clouds, Their wings spread wide, floating so proud. Oh, how I wish I could wake one day, Jump out of my bed and fly away, Up into the skies, I would go, Away from all this grief & sorrow You may sit and wonder why, Why I would want to be up high, But if you felt the way I do, Then you would want to join me to. For the time being I’ll stay down here, The reason for this is not yet clear, The day will come, of this I’m sure, When to fly away, I’ll want no more. ~~STEVE~~ |

Good write my friend! Great conveyance of you r yearnings. I breed finches and Button Quail, raise orphan wild birds during the spring and summers when necessary, and rehabilitate injured sick birds when need to and have fooled with birds since I was about 7 years old...love and adore them and dream your dream continuously. Will have to post one or two of my bird poems sometime. Loved the unfulfilled yearning in your piece. jwesley |
