I see you, not the man, but the child. With my hands, I touch you eyes, fearful ones, begging for answers. I wish I had them, instead I hold you. I cuddle you in my arms, you cry, I cry. Together, no ecstasy, no passion, just love. I look at you, my maternal instinct hold you. I try to protect you, but can't. I need you, not the child, but the man, to love me and be there for me, always. A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |
