In the distance, I hear a child. In the quiet of the night, when only my heart beats, it's her laughter that I like. Its high pitch, cuts through the window. In the loneliness, of time, I wonder if I once laughed like that. Faintly in the wind, the child giggles and I smile. I don't feel alone anymore, out there, I know someone's happy. A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |

Walker A child's laughter often brings happiness. Just hearing them often makes a person kinda giggly themselves. Keep listening for the laughter as it may continue to comfort and bring joy to your days and nights. Excellently penned. I liked this one alot. Garfield |

Hi Walker, The laughter of a child can lift many years off a burden soul that has forgotten how to really truly laugh at life, this is a wisdom filled piece and I enjoyed much, thank you.
