The sign at the entrance read
“Abandon hope all ye who enter here”
I read ever so slowly
My heart filled with fear

Do I go despite the warning
That left me paralyzed
Thoughts racing through my head
Afraid my fear will be realized

I stop and think instead
Examining my heart
Once I embark on this journey
There is no chance to restart

I must be absolutely sure
Before entering hell’s gates
That I am ready to face
What there patiently awaits

It may be the worst nightmare
Coming true before my eyes
Or a world filled with nothing
But terrible awful lies

I’ve heard there are levels
Different degrees to Satan’s realm
If I dare go inside
I give to him the helm

For he holds the power
In his hands to destroy
Every mere mortal
Be it man, woman, or boy

His strength is great
Those charms you can’t resist
And before you even know it
He’s grabbed you by the wrist

Once you are ensnared
In evil’s deadly trap
You will never find
The key to heaven’s map

After pausing to reconsider
My next important move
I decided that there was nothing
For me to really prove

I know in my heart
What dwells deep inside
In the bowels of hell
I refuse to reside

I turn back to the light
That continues to shine
Taking hold of the life
Which is finally mine

I place my faith in the Master
Through Him all things come true
No matter what the test
He will always see me through

He’s been there time and again
Lifting the burden I bear
An unconditional love like His
Is today so very rare

He will keep my heart
Forever safe and sound
As long as I believe in Him
Shelter will be found

All I have to do
Is bow my head and pray
He will gently guide me
To a new and glorious day

My dreams are in color
In hues so rich and deep
He has filled me so full
From my mind they seep

His words caress my ears
Soothing my weary soul
With His help I know I’ll reach
Even higher than my goal

Thanks to the Lord
Who gave me everlasting life
For granting me the strength
To face the trials and strife

Through Him we shall live
Even after our hearts die
For then our spirits are released
To the great by and by

APPLAUSE

LW, this is the best thing that I've ever read from you. . . it's full of supreme symbolism and excellent words. . . and I know that every word comes from within. . .

You've really grown a lot in your time here. . . and I for one am glad that you decided to share yourself with the People of Passions. . .

Excellent. . . here's to the next 3,000!!!

LW~

i agree w/ Sven...this is my most
favorite write from you. This is just
excellent...very powerful. You have
taken your writing to a new level--here
as of late. it was almost like watching
a butterfly leave its cacoon...realizing
she has wings and can fly. beautiful
just beautiful writing my friend...i can't
say enough how much i liked this. and you
are right. as long as we believe and trust
in HIM...all else will fall into place.
congratulations on 3000 and i hope im around
to see 3000 more or so from you! take care
my friend.

Congratulations to a fine lady, one with class, dignity, honor and true beauty. A lady poet who doesn't have to prove anything to anyone, only write with grace and style.
A lady who gives friendship of the unconditional kind, day and night, through anything, totally and asks nothing. (Don't stop me I'm on a roll)

to a young lady who I would be proud if she were my own daughter, who never lets me down, who writes from her heart, and doesn't ever have to go to hell, she is heaven sent. A lady with invisible wings, someone who honors me with her caring and her friendship. 3000 posts? You deserve the red carpet for the very first post you ever did, for you give nothing but kindness to anyone you touch. Every word you've ever written on this board to anyone is genuine real, honest and you consider their feelings above all else.

Ok, I know, I can't stop, you deserve to be publicy acknowledged for being a wonderful woman. I'm proud of you.

ok.....don't want to embarrass you..

You are an angel and a princess and I say write until your dreams come true and
write from your heart.

and the sun drips honey."

Sven . . . *bowing* . . . Thank you for the applause, I appreciate that. You know all my words come from my heart. They are pure and true. This one I gave my all to.
I think we have both grown a great deal in our time here. Thanks for introducing me to the People of Passions. They are a great group and I am glad to be a part of things here.

Gunslinger . . . Thank you and I do my best not to disappoint!!

James . . . We share the same hope. Thanks!

Amy . . . You are very sweet my friend. My writing continues to grow as I have grown. I believe the older you get, the better it gets, like a fine wine. Age adds dimensions and experiences we can only dreams of. I have emerged and I shall spread my wings to fly. The sky is the limit. Always remember that. I am happy you enjoyed this. I hope you are around for 3000 more also my friend.

Poeminister . . . Thanks and it seemed like a fitting piece for the occasion.

Kathleen . . . Where do I begin, sweetheart? Your glowing reply left my eyes filled with sweet tears from being touched by such a special lady. All the wonderful things you have said about me, go for you too my friend. You have my friendship for a lifetime unconditionally. You hold a very special place in my heart as well.

I am always there as you are for me. I will never let you down because with true friendship comes no expectations. You are so sweet and kind.

I would be proud to have you as my mother. And in my heart, you are thought of as such. Yes, I do write from my heart, it's the only way I know how. I think YOU are the one with those invisible wings though. I am honored to be your friend. I will always care for you.

I have to say no one knows me like you do. I can never fool you for you are too wise and ageless. I love you very much.

You have not embarrassed me, but made me proud to be called your friend. That means more to me than I can ever tell you. I hope I didn't embarrass you either.

Aw, I always wanted to be a princess. Who knows? Maybe someday!! I will write and write until all my dreams come true. When they do, I know you'll be there to celebrate with me. For the bond we have will never be broken.

I'd better stop before I start crying again. You are the best.

((((((((((hugs))))))))))

Jennifer

Wonderful, wonderful, 3000th post. So much truth and fully why we MUST turn every day from the temptations that lurk at Hell's gate.
