In The Moonlight Shadows Dancing

In the hushed stillness of the darkest night
When the moon casts her mysterious light
There in the velvet blackness the stars glow
And the river of night begins its nightly flow
In that place between dreaming and awake
You realise that life is there for you to take

Just before you enter into your dreaming time
Before the night calls you to stand in its line
Reach out into the night and take your place
Look into the night to see Shadows dark face
Don’t deny her dark allure yield to your fate
Take her hand and dance before it’s too late

In the moonlight Shadows dancing her dance
Give into you desires, come take your chance
Her skin softly glints in the silver moonlight
And her smile is full of the mystery of night
What do you see reflected in her dark eyes?
Is it, could she be the reason for your sighs?

In your mind you’re already spinning around
Floating in Shadows arms above the ground
But you’ve delayed too long you’re out if time
Shadows fading you’re in your dreaming time
But there’ll be another chance another night
For you to dance with Shadow in moonlight
Marsha

Take back the hope you gave,- I claim
Only a memory of the same

The challenge arose - and you met it spot on !
Wonderfully portrayed in thoughts that graced the page.

Wonderful response to the challenge. When you set your mind to writing a good one you never fail. Great take on the words that have shown many sides of many poets.

this is wonderful Bubbles. . .

I really like what you've done with it by personifying Shadow. . . makes it more fun!!
