Almost in my memory Veiled with a dusty hue Are silent, distant echoes And dreams of me and you I think of all the good times And the memories we used to share I would wear my heart upon my sleeve And for you, I left it there You took it with utmost flair And swept me off my feet The two of us, without a care Like two lovers, chance to meet And then one day you proceeded through Without a thought running through your head You took that heart upon my sleeve And stomped on it instead Why was I the porcelain one? The one with the heart of glass The crystal feelings, so easily broken And not repaired as fast You left my life in shambles You left the pieces there All of me was broken And all my soul was bare You were once my everything My dreams and hopes and fears You shared with me your laughter And comforted my tears So now I lay here aching And wondering what to do The part of me that was once so strong Is still not over you |
