Like a lightning strike flashed my past
with the pounding rain came my tears
the storm's fiery described my thoughts
and blackout's surged my greatest fears

A loud crack, there went my heart
a shrivelled casing left to die
then came the evil helped me thru
Showed me drugs i began to try

Watched my life fall apart
though evil made it look just fine
reality knows addictions have hold
and slowly destroys this life of mine

Wind so wild it's ander shows
all love lost just blown away
no peace, no joy, no hope in sight
will doneday full, die where i lay

All so hopeless, so close to gone
the future ahead now only black
the storm so strong and i so weak
can only cry as i look back.

Oh my...this piece hold much power and sadness at the same time.

I have a friend who's daughter is an addict and is in constant
battle of using and not using.

Thank you for sharing such a piercing piece with us.

Wow, what a powerful poem...I hope that you can break away from drugs...I can only imagine how hard it would be to break...just keep trying and never give-up hope cause, anything can happen.....great write!
