White Paper

A clean white piece of paper is a writer’s empty stage
Enticing winsome verses to be scrolled upon the page
A pen and ink wait patiently in fingertips to write
Sweet phrases strung in black across a snowy field of white

The first touch of the pen to page is like a child’s birth
The thoughts concieved in mind’s abyss appear upon the earth
Then words beget more written words, which turn intrisically
To lyrics of the songs of life in lovely poetry

Just as the sparrows gather gently on a snowy bed
Alighting on the powered crest where seeds of food are spread
So patterns of the ink are layed in silky lines of art
Black letters strung on paper’s white fed by a poet’s heart

How beautiful the story told in verse of rhythmic rhyme
As words unlock the mysteries inside a poet’s mind
And when the poem is finished, his eyes find sheer delight
In picking up another empty page of snowy white

Yes, Elizabeth, they have the power to kill and give life....this is a treasure of a poem

and the sun drips honey."

Elizabeth: That white paper is fortunate to be available for your talented pen... your performances on that stage are without equal. This is beautiful!

I don't know how such a lovely work of art like this slipped so far down the list. However, I'm just bumping you up there where you belong. This is absolutely delightful Elizabeth! It just gave me the urge to sit right down and write something...I loved your genteel words of kindness for the love of creating word images that exists in all potes and writers.....wonderful my dear lady just wonderful!! take care ethome

Yes, I echo Nan! I was just thinking about the same thing...however, I could never do it justice as you have so eloquently here, Liz! You are outstanding!

There's no feeling quite like that of creating a poem, is there, Elizabeth?! This is fantastic!! I love it!!

p.s. when you are saving the pictures that you scan, save them as .jpg or jpeg, whichever your scanner software says. There should be a drop down box that gives you 'type' choices. That is the type that they have to be to email them. Then, of course, give it whatever file name you like and send them to ME...hehehe

Elizabeth,
To me this is an epopee
No finer could there be.
