you cling feverishly to reality
lest your heart be taken a fool
by some unkept promise
of tomorrow

you breathe shallow
the fragrance of rose
lest you inhale the thorns
that may shred your soul

you reach out with eyes wide open
lest you be surprised by
the soft, honest spirit
of love that is true...

do you fear me?
do you not know by now
the capacity of my love?

you miss the puddles
if you never walk in the rain--
but you miss the wonderous colors
when the bow bends about the clouds....

i want to love
i will love without a second breath
i've been broken
i've been scarred
but i
will not live life halfway
i intend to live amidst love
and if i am to live with love
i will live to feel
the utmost pleasure
beyond the wounds of thorns...

dont fear me;
dont fear love...

Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the best poem I have ever read in my entire life!! The minute I finished reading it, "Wow!!" were the words that came to be.

Very nicely written.

Gale - I have to agree with the others. This one knocked the wind out of me! And I say AMEN sister! If you weren't already in my library, I'd definitely save this one. Now get cracking on those others!

it shines, and I'm so glad I found you under your new name, been a rough night and this sure felt like sweet, fresh rain. God bless.

Sorry to double post but I just read this again and it's a very diff read from where I sit today. The last time I was caught up in the romance of it all...today I am worried I may have played the fool. It is still well worth reading, again and again.

PARKER..if you would seek a rose, seek also its thorns...for then you shall know you have surely found that which you seek..
there is no substitute for a rose...as there is no 'taking only half' of love...

PACKRAT..thank you and ditto the above for you...

JLR..please double post anytime! LOL (could use your post again so people will see my thank you replies... )
sorry for your bummy day with love... we all play the fool on occasion.. and i will ditto the above for you also..
