ok, lolol, *laughing only at me* but this is my first attempt at any sort of rhyme scheme...go easy on me ok?

Thank you's, merry go rounds and I

It pleases me to thank you now
even though you didn't do it on purpose
its just the way of you to make people smile
but you helped me
find my way back
inside

A long time ago I used to think
someday I would be happy
dizzy as I might have been
I reached for the golden ring
only to find out
the merry go round
lied

my heart stopped reaching
tight fisted it punished me for trying

and one day my eyes just stopped seeing
they were tired of crying

I wrapped me up inside
folded in the extras
and tied the strings
tight

I forgot that skipping rope
was playing, I forgot the carefree
days of swinging
feet high, touching the
light

I forgot that smiles were
free for the taking
that they were meant to be
enjoyed

I even forgot that deserts-
my prescription for sanity
are very pleasurably
employed

For the lunchtime treats
that too long I
denied
I have you to thank my friend
your smile reached the me
I tried to hide

Your rhyme scheme might not be the usual, but it works well... I'm not about to laugh (well, at least not at your rhyme scheme... those lunches are another matter! LOL)Ya done good, gal...
