Like a Summer Rain You are like a summer rain Refreshing earth and air again Soft touches on a window pane You are the joy of summer rain You are the one to comfort me You are my morning cup of tea You sit and talk so lovingly And touch the very heart of me When evening shadows slowly fade And dampness sits on evening blade You are the sunlight unafraid To put to rest the hours paid You shower me in starlight’s bed With all the lovely things you’ve said And when the dawn peeks up it’s head There you are in sunrise red You are the hope, the joy, the love That flew on wings of mourning dove From winds afar and clouds above You came to smother me with love If anyone could touch my heart It would be you, it’s equal part If anything would sooth a pain It is the joy of summer rain Elizabeth Santos |

Elizabeth~ Such a lovely, lovely reminder of the effects of the rain on each of us. You do the rain a marvelous, drenching tribute. I love reading your views on nature as it relates to our relationship with life. Thank you always for sharing. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

It must be raining everywhere! How lovely. "I walked beside the evening sea and dreamed a dream that could not be." George William Curtis |

ahh an extra dose of Lizzie rhyme divine... love the full verse rhyme ... as always the melody of your cadence rises of the page ... the imagery brings it all together in this succinctly perfect piece. so well done poetess of grace Tomorrow holds only mystery And who's to say what might be But in you I've found a love so strong The sun and the moon look on in jealousy ~VH~ |
