It began slowly, unnoticed Like a gentle rain That beads and rolls Upon the earth And finds itself in a flowing stream Bumping and sliding With gravity's pull Countless raindrops United as one Raging towards the sea. The challenges, a refreshing change From the arid norm Have gathered strength. Over the din of foam and rage You call to me And I, oblivious to the signs Fall to the current And am swept away. There are thoughts which are prayers. There are moments when, whatever the posture of the body, the soul is on its knees. ~~Victor Hugo~~ |

Trew~ Well, much too quickly it was Swept Away ... Found it resting on page 7 and I'm boosting this lovely gem back to the top for others to enjoy. Glad to see you here with us ... ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Trew, Welcome back stranger!!! LOL. Wonderful return piece here my friend. Lovely writing. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Thank you all for taking the time to read my work and to respond so kindly! I'm afraid that I have been somewhat swept away myself, as of late. Work has taken a great deal of my waking hours for the past few months and only now am I able to return here. Lary, a fellow Canuck! How nice to have you respond. Great to know you're here. Thank you for making time for me! Amy, The pleasure is knowing that people like you are still here. Thanks so much. insect, Thank you, I look forward to reading more of your work, now that I'm back! doreen, Thanks for your observations and for your time. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Paula, my friend. I have missed you as well. I'm afraid that I have turned into a lurker for the past while. Hopefully now I can return with a little more frequency. I have been keeping track of your writing. Silently, though it may have been. jwesley, Thank you. So glad you replied! Marge, Thank you for the bump! I am amazed at the traffic here! So much to read, I truly appreciate your time and I'm glad that you enjoyed it! LW, Thank you, I'm very glad to be back. It's great to see that you are still posting as well. And some fine pieces, I might add. I look forward to many more, my friend. |
