Virginia Salter May I brush your hair just one more time... like in the days when smiles reached your lips and sparkles twinkled your eyes. One-hundred strokes love in the spokes of arms and legs surrounding our relationship. Both of us sporting long locks tresses of sheen and shine when it was good to be in each other’s hair. One more brush stroke of your golden threads and your eagerness to love’s caresses in brushing my ash-brown strands. Wouldn’t it be wonderful just one more time for each of us to feel that mother/daughter love © February 20, 2001 |

I envy you those memories... even as I understand the wishing. *S* Beautiful! I posted this long ago... I think you'll understand. *S* reminiscing Looking back on yesteryears I know the pain And feel the tears Of lonely days And empty arms And sleepless nights And life with no real meaning. Memories of you never die They come to me And make me cry For all that's lost Forevermore And all that's gained That wasn't ever wanted. If only for a little while I'd like to love you See you smile And laugh with you In morning's light For all the dreams More time might have fulfilled. Vas this is a very touching love story, my daughter and I do the very same thing, brush each others hairs. Its bonding at its best. Lovely expressed. A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |
