(The poem I wrote that brought me here - the last non-PIP piece written before I came here) A warm fall breeze lifts the leaves Exposing their alternate color Softly on my skin -I feel your presence Waking dormant feelings I can't ignore Spreading Goosebumps raising hairs It will soon be prickles giving foretaste Of passion always to come I'm standing in a shallow pool Under the waterfall that is you Filling this empty vessel that is me Rinsing me clean Washing away my iniquities I feel I'll burst, my skin with such sheen Ripples spread across the pool Cones of leaves twirl across the meadow Trees shedding, bending in a fall ballet A hint of smoke, and cider fill the scented air You across the continent are here with me Oh yes - you are here I feel you in each tiny drop Cascading from my arms And in each wafted breeze That carries your scent I turn and embrace the water's fall Let its fluid rush conceive substantial you The watery flow runs through my skies All the rainbows that I see Are sparkles from your eyes The spilling spirit you my aqua vitae Ponce De Leon has found his fountain now Becomes my skin and enters in Akin we are, despite so far, I feel you deep within I imagine you can feel me as I feel you So we cavort in water stained with fall Tannin brown from leaves withal Sharing kisses wet and glorious Were we seen we'd be notorious And thus I smile first time today And whisper words you'd have me say As into rhyme our speech falls easy Laughter in our talk so breezy For all I am when I'm with you For all that's good, you in me imbue I'm giving thanks to you nightly And equal thanks to the almighty You fill my heart you fill my soul My very lungs you do control You're in the air I draw each breath There you'll stay until my death My mold sincere with Latin meaning In you I find all love I'm gleaning Then like two geese we gently nest Forever mated we take our rest Great souls have wills; feeble ones have only wishes. ~ Chinese Proverb ~ |

This is so warm and full of love Bill...the quality of your writing here is so very effective! Very well done!! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Wilfred.... I know I've said this before, but I'm overriding my self. This, to me, is the best piece you've penned. So many lines touch me personally.....I felt every word as I read it. I especailly love the last stanza..... You've done a fantastic job, not only with you words, but your format, flow and expression! Hats off to you Sir.... Very well done! ~Sheri "The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by those who got there first" [This message has been edited by Irie (edited 02-20-2001).] |

I'm so grateful for your replies - (i truly wish I had time to thank you all individually - certainly most of the replies have earned that - I'm undergoing treatment right now - and if the good Lord is willing - I'll feel better soon - Meanwhile - Pray for me as I pray for you - and thank you again |
